The Review Oral Defense of CYL Day's Activity-- Enjoy Reading

In the Southwest Jiaotong University,every sub-committee
has actively organized and mobilized the CYL（Chinese Youth League) Day’s Activity --“Enjoy Reading
Classics” so as to respond to the school League Committee’s appeal. And each
Youth League Branch has positively involved in various content-rich CYL Day’s
activity’s projects.Therefore,in order to demonstrate activity’outcomes intensely,comment
good models and summarize experiences,the Review Oral Defense of CYL Day’s
Activity--“Enjoy Reading Classics”,sponsored by the school League Committee,
and held by the college of Economics and Management’s sub-committee,conducted
in the third floor of the First Dining Rooms at 14:00 on April 15th.
The sublibrarian Xiong Shaobo, the Authority deputy party secretary Li Xiaoyu,
the Student Affairs office deputy director Huang Chunrong,the vice secretary of
the school League Committee Liao Jun,the chief of the Dean’s  Office Practice Department Wei Feifei as well
19 schools’Youth League Secretaries composed of the jury, and the jury judged
18 colleges’ projects of CYL Day’s Activity--“Enjoy Reading Classics”.There
were 3 parts in the oral defense.First, the introduction of projects.Second,the
fruit exhibition.Third, the oral defense.Participants were required to do the
presentation succinctly and efficiently by using PPT,e-albums and videos.The
team from the college of Life Science and Engineering showed the project that
they had held the debate competition with the theme of analyzing and debating
classics. The sub-committee of the Arts and Communication college focused on
the “Meeting Arts” activity and made combination of poetry,music and calligraphy.The
team of Mechanical Engineering College had designed and held their CYL Day’s
activity by utilizing A Dream of Red Mansions as an entry point.The
audiences applauded them for the performances of songs and dance as well
reciting poems Frowning in Deep Sorrow. The Information Science and
Technology College’s team performed the drama The Emperor And The Assassin.The
Transportation and Logistics College’s representatives interpreted the
necessary combination of knowledge and power by putting on the play I Think
So. With the inspiration from People Place and Life Between
Buildings,the Architecture College’s representatives showed their design of
the college students' activity center which fully embodies the combination of
theory and practice.The Economics and Management College’s team affectionately
recited a poem Believe that life, showing a kind of tension with
thriving vitality of life.Moreover,the national defense students from the Earth
Science and Environmental Engineering College conducted the CYL Day’s Activity
with the theme of “the Literary Atmosphere Under Uniforms”, conveying their
dreams of enhancing literary education into army forces.During the oral
defense,18 teams showed their projects through various forms fulfilling novelty
and uniqueness such as dance, dramas,recitation and crosstalk etc.,making the
activity more interesting.

Mr Liao Jun,the vice secretary of the school League
Committee, made a statement after presentation.Firstly, he admired all the
participants' hard work and said this activity was rich in content and had
variety of forms as well embodied the Youth League members’positive learning
attitude and energetic spirit through singing classic songs, performing classic
dramas and reciting classic poems.He also encouraged that students in the
university should carefully read the 96 classics recommended by the university’s
classic book list.Mr Liao expressed his expectation and confidence to students
in Southwest Jiaotong University by 
quoting“Reading maketh a full man ”and hoping students can be fond of
reading and read good books.
After the jury’s careful judging,10 Youth League
Branches’s activities were awarded as the best ten CYL Day’s “Enjoy Reading
Classics” Activities in 2014. There are from Accounting class 1 of 2013 in the
Economics and Management College,Mechanical Engineering class 1 of 2012 in the
Mechanical Engineering College,Chinese Literature class 2 of 2013 in the Arts
and Communications College,Logistic Management class 2 and the Transportation
Engineering class 2 of 2012 and 2013 in the Transportation and Logistics
College,Civil Engineering Class 11 and 12 of 2012 in the Civil Engineering
College,Telecommunication class 3 of 2012 in The Information Science and
Technology College,English Translation class 1 and class 2 in the Foreign
Languages Study College,Telegraphy class 5 of 2013 in the Physical Science and
Technology College, International Trading class 2 of 2011 in the Public
Management College and Cartography class 2 of 2012 in the Earth Science and
Environmental Engineering College. At this Point,the event ended successfully.
